OUR MISSION IS TO IMPROVE THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC CONDITIONS OF VULNERABLE AND MARGINALISED POPULATIONS. WE PURSUE THIS MISSION BY SUPPORTING PROGRAMMES IN THREE FOCUS AREAS: FAIR AND SUSTAINABLE EMPLOYMENT, CLEAN AND SAFE LOGISTICS AND COMMUNITY CARE.
Fair And Sustainable Employment:
Our mission is to contribute to the prosperity of vulnerable communities. Fundamental to this prosperity are job opportunities for all, including the most marginalised members of society, underpinned by decent wages, and safe working conditions aligned with international ethical principles of employment.
What we do to promote Fair and Sustainable Employment:
We aim at creating employment opportunities for those who most need it, such as disenfranchised youth, smallholder farmers, people living with disabilities, women in vulnerable situations and other marginalised groups. We partner with experienced organisations who upskill vulnerable individuals with the training they need to access gainful employment opportunities.
We support social entrepreneurs whose results-oriented and innovative ideas advance pioneering and sustainable solutions to pressing social challenges, correct market failures and create jobs for surrounding communities.
Clean And Safe Logistics:
As a corporate foundation, we have the opportunity to tap into the expertise and networks of our founder, Puma Energy, and use these precious resources to the benefit of our programmes’ beneficiaries - while always remaining loyal to our philanthropic agenda and goals.
This is why we shaped a focus area called Clean and Safe Logistics, a new pioneering field of action in the philanthropic arena with the following mission:
We are committed to improving road safety to reduce road traffic injuries and fatalities in countries where accident rates is unacceptably high.
We promote sustainable solutions to improve the livelihoods of isolated or vulnerable communities through the delivery of basic services (health, education) and the creation of new economic opportunities.
Funds are provided by our parent company, Puma Energy. In 2020, we distributed $1m worth of grants.
Community Care:
The local aspect of our involvement is important as it ensures Puma Energy’s active participation as a responsible corporate citizen. Within Puma offices, employees are made aware of the programmes being supported by the Foundation and are invited to lend a hand when possible. This promotes a sense of ownership and a deeper connection with issues on the ground.
This is why we promote "Community Care" programmes. These are projects endorsed by our employees, or developed close to the Group's offices, that contribute to the positive advancement of local communities. They span from post-disaster relief operations that we support on an occasional basis, to programmes that contribute to the positive advancement of communities.
